TAKE CONTROL TODAYMy name is Edgar and I am 20 years old. I have been living with epilepsy for a long time now and have always been covered for my perscriptions by my moms insurance. My parents are in their mid 50's now and are planning on retiring soon but my mom doesn't want to because then we will need to pay full cost for my meds (Lamotrigine [generic sub for lamictal] and Levetiracetam [generic sub for Keppra]). Without the insurance they would cost somewhere around $1,000 per refill, aka every month... so I was wondering if there is anyway to get that same coverage through some other method. medi-care, medi-cal, medic-aid, medic-WHATEVER! lol. Please help with any info that you can. It will be greatly appreciated. thanks!

I recently ordered my meds from Canada: http://www.canadapharmacy.com/
I searched for Keppra and Lamictal and they have it. I'm not sure what dosage you're taking, but the prices there might help.
I have had to live on my one for about 3 years now and i cant find an insherance comp. that will take me cuz. of the preagsisting condition but my doc. did start me on carbamazepine. I take 300mg twice a day and that is only $9.00 were I live, in South Dakota. That is without inshurance. You could ask your doc about something like that.
(sorry about any bad spelling)

DG,
Post this to the medication issues board. If memory serves me correctly, someone posted some information regarding obtaining medication when one can't afford it. I believe it was within one of the Keppra threads pertaining to Generic Keppra.
