New email notification

New Feature!

Hi everyone! Hope this finds you all well today... Just an fyi of a new feature starting any day now - email notification of blogs, community threads and tags of your choice! You'll be able to 'subscribe' to any of these that you want - then when a new entry is made to it, you'll get an email notice to come and take a look! I think it's a daily update (I'll double check that) - meaning that you won't be bombarded with emails to frequently commented on blogs or threads. This is meant to be an expansion of the current system and we hope will make your stay here easier and more fun! It's a great way to stay in closer touch with topics and users.

Webmaster will put up instructions for everyone, but it's easy to do. No one has to do it - it's your choice to subscribe to it.

Let me know what you think and of course, if any problems, email us!

Hi all,

Just a quick note to let you know that this feature is now live on My.Epilepsy.com. We hope you like it!

You will find this new tool at the bottom of all Community Forum and Blog posts -- down by the username and date of post. It's the link titled "Subscribe via Email." When you click this link, a pop-up window will appear that allows you to subscribe to that entry based on several criteria (ie, subscribe to this user's blog or this thread, depending on where you are on the site - Blogs or Community Forum). Additionally, if the entry is tagged, you can subscribe to any number of tags. This allows you to stay up to date on activities on the website of your buddies and/or topics.

Emails are distributed several times a day. As Epi_help said, we don't want to overload you with email, but we do want to make sure it is as fresh as possible so you can join the discussion. The emails will be delivered from the address 'epilepsyalerts-noreply@epilepsy.com'. You might want to set your address book to accept emails from that address so they don't get picked up as spam!

To edit your subscriptions, just go into the "Manage My Account" link in the left (orange) navigation. Once you are there, you'll see a "my email notifications" tab which you can click on. This will show you all the Blogs, Posts, and Tags that you are currently subscribed to, and allow you to unsubscribe at any time.
