I am 18 and have been having migraines since I was 10 years old. In the last few years, my migraines have gone away but in the past couple of months, I began "falling out of bed." More recently, when my boyfriend was over watching a movie with me, I fell asleep and had a seizure. When I went in for a sleep deprived EEG I had another seizure right on the table once I had fallen asleep. That same day my DR. gave me a starter pack for Lamictal, and I am on my 4th day of it. I hate it. I feel moody and have developed an extremely painful sore in my mouth. I looked up the medicine and noticed it is commonly prescribed to bi-polar patients, which makes me extremely uncomfortable. I was taking Concerta for my ADD for a while, and my mood is very similar now on Lamictal as it was when I was on the ADD medicine. I switched my ADD medicine because I hated how it affected my mood. Similarly I am thinking about switching my new medicine. any thoughts?

k8dilly, I know it's been a year and nobody commented back to you with any feedback, I was curious as to what decision you made with regard to the drug of choice for your seizures?
Cheers,
Andrew
I recently started Lamictal, and didn't know it was prescribed to bi-polar patients. I have known about being bi-polar all my life, but not having Epilepsy at the same time. My Epilepsy didn't start until later in life. I've had trouble sleeping all my life, but since I've started Lamictal, I've been falling asleep much easier, and sleeping much longer. I don't normally have nocturnal seizures, I don't think I've been having them though.
Well, our stories seem somewhat similar and I hope to have the same results you have!
Cheers,
Andrew
