My neurologists recommended surgery years ago, but it took me years to make the grueling, painstaking, and roller-coaster-like experiences to finally decide to go for it in 2011. Like many, I have been on but failed to respond to at least 5 antiepileptic drugs across decades. It was literally the most important decision in my life. It wasn’t a total success, I have to say, but I don’t regret it.
