TAKE CONTROL TODAYIn the United States, companies that manufacture medicines are required to publish certain kinds of information about each product. This document is commonly known as a “package insert” because it is usually included with each package of the medicine.
These documents (also called “prescribing information”) are also available online for brand-name products. Because the medicine is the same, most of the information applies equally well to the generic form. The U.S. package inserts for phenytoin using the brand name Dilantin (one for each form) are found at:
