TAKE CONTROL TODAYOften doctors find that medicines are useful for more than one purpose. Besides controlling seizures, Gabapentin is also helpful for some kinds of pain. In 2002 it was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to treat a syndrome called postherpetic neuralgia, pain that follows the viral rash commonly known as shingles.
