Felbatol can be used to treat both children and adults:

• Adults: used either alone (monotherapy) or in combination with other seizure medicines (adjunctive therapy) for partial seizures, with and without generalization
• Children: used in combination with other seizure medicines (adjunctive therapy) for partial and generalized seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome in children aged 2 to 14 years

The use of Felbatol is recommended only for patients whose epilepsy has not responded to other medications and is so severe that a substantial risk of aplastic anemia or liver failure is considered acceptable in light of its potential benefits.
