Family Camp - October 6 - October 8, 2017
What do fishing, swimming, boating, archery, arts & crafts, and kids with epilepsy have in common? A great opportunity to attend a weekend family camp at the Center for Courageous Kids. CCK is a state of the art medical camp where families with affected by epilepsy can experience a stress free, safe and fun camp experience. The Epilepsy Family Retreat will begin on Friday evening October 6th through Sunday morning October 8th. CCK is located in Scottsville, Kentucky (travel assistance grants may be available).
Families are offered endless opportunities for those living with medical challenges at this world class medical camp. At The Center for Courageous Kids, our Family Retreat Weekend is designed to provide respite, recreation, and support programs for families who have a child with epilepsy Our Family weekend provides a similar experience to the summer camp, as well as the opportunity for parents to gather together and share similar life-experiences. To qualify, a member of the immediate family, ages 5-17, must be diagnosed with epilepsy.
HOW DOES A CAMPER APPLY? (Please note the deadline is August 15, 2017.)
You can access the online application (located under the campers tab at the top of the page - http://www.thecenterforcourageouskids.org/camperApp.html) or to request an application by mail, call the Camper Recruiter's office at (270) 618-2912. All forms must be completed and returned for consideration. Acceptance to camp is based on screening criteria and availability.
There is an application process to attend this camp which is FREE of charge (travel to and from the camp is not included but travel assistance grants may be available) for your family to attend, if they are accepted. This camp is an experience you and your family will not want to miss. Space is limited to 30 families - so please send your application early to take advantage of this opportunity that will give your child self confidence and make friends for a lifetime.
