About Epilepsy Foundation Indiana

The Epilepsy Foundation of Indiana was created in 2006 to offer education, advocacy and support for all Hoosiers affected by seizure disorders.

Our annual programs available to qualified applicants at no charge include Studio E art therapy, a family weekend at Camp for Courageous Kids, and a Community Awareness Day of educational resources. In addition, we sponsor a network of monthly epilepsy support groups located all around the state and have an epilepsy educator available to visit schools, businesses, law enforcement agencies and other organizations.

Our fundraising events are also designed to raise awareness and educate the public about epilepsy. They include An Evening for Epilepsy gala and the Indiana Walk for Epilepsy.

The foundation is led by an all-volunteer Advisory Board representing a variety of backgrounds and expertise. We also have an advisory board of medical professionals available to guide our efforts.

Our Mission Statement

To lead the fight to overcome the challenges of living with epilepsy and to accelerate therapies to stop seizures, find cures, and save lives.

2016 Epilepsy Awareness Day

Epilepsy Foundation Indiana - Community Awareness Day

Thank you for attending the 2016 Community Awareness Day on November 12!   We shared the day with over 100 participants from across Indiana.  Our partner support was strong with over 25 exhibitors providing information on services, therapy options, educational materials, support and hope for the Indiana epilepsy community.

We are especially grateful to our expert panel – Dr. Jamie Capal, Dr. Cindy McGarvey, Dr. Dragos Sabau, and Dr. Nicholas Barbaro – for donating their time and offering professional insight for questions ranging from research to neurosurgery.  Thank you!

“We are fortunate to have supportive volunteers and partners, as well as an amazing medical community, to help make our Community Awareness Day a great event for individuals living with the challenges of epilepsy.” – Dianna Miller-Wilson, Executive Director
