The Anticonvulsant Screening Program (ASP) is a long-standing government sponsored effort established to encourage and facilitate the discovery, optimization and development of new therapeutic agents for the treatment of seizure related disorders. One of the ASP's major goals is to establish the worldwide collaborative partnerships among government, academia, and industry to search for new treatments and an eventual cure of the epilepsies. In 2008, the ASP expanded its screening capabilities through a broad HHS funded effort. As a result, the ASP is now also accepting compounds for free confidential screening and expert analysis to search for counter-measures to protect the world's populations against potential chemical threats from intentional or accidental exposure to nerve agents. To participate or for more information please contact a member of their program staff listed on their website.
