Determinants of Health

This training program provides an overview of the social and economic determinants of health and the barriers that may prevent patients and families from accessing care.

At the conclusion of this training, you will:

  • Understand the social and economic determinants of health.
  • Identify health-related social service needs in pediatric primary care.
  • Recognize barriers to assessing health-related social service needs.
  • Recognize that although socioeconomic factors impact development and treatment of disease, epilepsy also has a major impact on family socioeconomic factors.
