I have had absences since I was an adolescent. For years it went undiagnosed and defined as a "tick". 3 years ago, at the age of 22, I had 2 grand mal seizures and was finally diagnosed as having generalized epilepsy. Still, no mention of absences....

In October of 2005, at age 25, I had my first seizures. My MO is to have a grand mal, pass out, wake up and have another. This happened in October and then again in November. They seemed to align with my menstrual cycles, so there was a hormonal component....
