The purpose of the Milken Family Foundation Translational Research Award is to advance the development of novel therapies for the treatment of epilepsy. The MFF Translational Research Awards will continue to fund highly competitive proposals with near term patient benefit. One grant in the amount of $50,000 will be awarded. All grant proposals must demonstrate a clear and concise research plan integrating laboratory science with the clinical research, the probability of success, and the estimated timeframe for development. Preference is given to those proposals that already have a commercial partner committed to the research project. Other areas of consideration include but are not limited to:
Any individual holding an M.D., Ph.D. or equivalent degree is eligible to submit a proposal. Proposals for research originating from outside the United States are welcome.
Investigators must submit a Letter of Intent by August 3, 2009 at 11:59 pm EDT.
The deadline for receipt of full Grant proposals is September 30, 2009 at 11:59 pm EDT.
Full proposals will be accepted only from Investigators whose Letter of Intent was approved.

The Milken Family Foundation Translational Research Awards are only to be used to support the direct costs of the stated research project, they are not to be used for indirect costs or institutional overhead or administrative costs.
