The only way I ever knew I had any problem was when someone in my family told me. Luckily my epilepsy didn't start until two months ago, which would be late August to early September of 2005.

For me, when I had my episodes I was never aware that I ever had one. I had to be told. The only one driving mishap was when I was driving out for fast food with my brother, who stated that I zoned out while leaving the drive thru. He said I put my accelerator foot to the floor and he had to put my car in neutral. The only thing I remember is I was confused why he had such a concerned look on his face.

The other major episode was when I was eating with my family and they said my face turned white and I knocked over my glass and my arms were shaking. When I came out it I was confused why my mother was picking up ice and broken glass from the floor. Once again I was totally unware that anything ever happened.

After the typical EEG and MRI (which looked fine but the EEG looked marginal) it was decided to put me on dilantin, which I found out I was allergic to. Now I'm on Carbamazepine, which is also causing problems so who knows where it goes next.
