Yes it is true I am cured. After 18 long years of dealing with this disease it is finally over for me. I found out that I had epilepsy when I was about 13. I had no clue what epilepsy was at that time nor did I know how much of an impact that it would have on my life in the future. The doctors immediately put me on phenos which is a very imparing drug, making it very hard to do much of anything while I was taking it.

I was averaging about 3-5 grand-mal episodes a year for the first four years and the number increased when I discovered drugs (meth,acid,pot) and I was so naive that I did not put 2 and 2 together and just kept on having the seizures. As I got older and grew tired of the seizures and the medication I sobered and wisened up. Believe it or not, I only took the meds when I was feeling what I called "funny" or that feeling you get when you think a episode may be coming on. I also changed my lifestyle by watching what I ate and getting plenty of rest. It seemed to work well in the first couple of years; my episodes went down to one or two a year. In the last 8 years I took no meds at all and had a total of 3 yes 3! My last seizure was about 4 years ago and so I decided to go see the neurologist and attempt to get back my driver's license. I scheduled an EEG and a week after it I recived the call saying that there was no sign of epilepsy, it was gone!!

From what I was told I had what is called juvenile epilepsy and I had grown out of it. Unbelieveable! I never thought it would happen, but it did. I was able to get my license back and a whole new world has been opened to me, no restrictions at all. I can stay up all night, eat ice cream, drive, all that neat stuff I missed out on before I can now induldge in. I am not trying to brag, but if you do watch what you do, and are faithful to developing a regimen you might be able to have the same luck.

Now I move on to a new life and hope that there is a cure out there for everyone that is close. God Bless
