A wonderful new day arrives to keep me busy.
Praying that this day I don't fall from being dizzy.

Others can't tell there is anything wrong with me.
It's not as if I'm wearing a sign announcing my Epilepsy.

But there is something wrong with me deep inside.
Constant fear of embarrassment, is what I try to hide.

Each day I am reminded of the freedom I've lost.
Great support every minute does come with a cost.

Not that long ago I ran the perfect school.
But falling in front of students made me feel like a fool.

This life changing disease came as a result of a doctor’s poor choice.
But getting him to pay for it, was like yelling with no voice.

So many talents I felt were lost or taken from me.
Family vacations and roller coasters I know I'll never see.

Until one day I stepped back and realized.
This disease has only opened my eyes.

Now I believe that this too can be a good thing.
The family support and all the love it can bring.

I take more time and plan out my day.
More time with my husband to sight see and play.

Early retirement, less daily stress of the work place.
Believe it or not, less wrinkles I have on my face.

I no longer take for granted all of life’s daily events.
or all the wonderful magic pills this century invents.

For we can choose not to let this "problem" get in the way.
Using our talents and strengths for others, is what I now say.
