Honor Someone You Love by Karen Dredske
It was a cold January day when I looked into those big, brown eyes and saw all the pain there. If only there was a way that I could make it all better. It made me sad because I had done my best to give him the healthiest, happiest life I could. When the end was near, there were about 10 minutes where he had the biggest smile I had seen since he was young. The love that was in his eyes melted my heart. He was letting me know he loved me with all his heart and soul even though it was time to go. I knew unconditional love like never before. Like many people, I was honored by the unconditional love that my dog gave me everyday of his life. I wanted to honor him in a way that would let people know how much I loved him and that would do something good in this world. It didn't take any time at all to realize that I could do this by making a donation to the Epilepsy Therapy Project in honor of him. It occurred to me that I could do this on ANY occasion in honor of anyone I love. Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and you will want to find a special way to let that person you love know that you care. Whether they are far or near, a donation to the Epilepsy Therapy Project in honor of them will let everyone know how much you care. When you make your donation online, the same day they are sent an email message letting them know that you did this in honor of them. Your name and their name is added to our long list of supporters. Your contribution goes to support finding new therapies for people with epilepsy and to continue to provide the most comprehensive information about epilepsy on the Internet. Because the Epilepsy Therapy Project is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, your contribution is also tax-deductible. |
