Trileptal and Keppra Pregnancy
|
|
Hi, my name is Aida and I have had epilepsy for 10 years now.
I do want to get pregnant (maybe sometime soon, who knows), so I am a little concerned about all of the meds I am taking. I am on a very high dose of Trileptal and Keppra, and still taking Lacmictal. I would really like to know if anybody has had any experiences with being pregnant, on these meds? Or maybe with the high dosage? I read about the meds and how they are okay to take while being pregnant, but the high dosage? and combined?
I just recently increased my Trileptal dosage and it has helped a lot. I don't think I would be able to decrease it without having any seizures.
If anybody has the answer to my questions PLEASE let me know? Thanks!

Hi Aida,
I am on three medications as well two of which you are on. I am on Keppra, Lamictal, and Topamax I am also 24 weeks pregnant. My doctor has been monitoring my levels of medication during pregnancy, he ups the Lamictal as it goes done as the baby grows. I am also on high doses of all of my medication, I would consult a high risk ob and also your neuro. I have had a decent pregnancy so far with very few problems. I wish you the best of luck. It is also recommended staying on the medication because seizures can hurt the baby more :) Again good luck and keep us posted!
