Hi

I have recently been diagnosed with Epilepsy and my specialist has put me on Tegretol Retard 200mg in am and 400mg at night. I was on Lamotrigine for nearly a month but became very ill and my white blood cell count fell.

I have been on Tegretol Retard since Aug 08 following another seizure in July (I have only had 4 ever and was fine until Oct 07). My query is this - has anyone else noticed weight gain on this med? I have always eaten carefully and exercise at least 4 times each week. I have noticed that despite increasing exercise and eating very carefully I still seem to be finding my clothes tighter.

Feeling very miserable and fed up about this but know I can't stop meds as I want to get on with my life and try and regain some normality. I am also very reluctant to switch meds as at least this one doesn't make me feel too bad!
