I just recently started seeing a new neuro and have been given startling news. Upon describing my seizures to him and what occurs during them he has said that they aren't seizures at all. He did not explain what they were, but he said they weren't seizures, it wasn't epilepsy. The thing is I was diagnosed with e about 6 years ago, have had countless tests done, and have taken countless medications. I didn't marry abroad because some countries have laws against epileptics getting married. I didn't go sky diving at my last opportunity. Due to my head injury and some of the AED's I've been on I've had a hard time remembering things making school the ever difficult journey. I know my mind may not be tip top but I remember the previous dr saying e, in fact I have the medical record to prove it. So what the heck? What's going on? Do I have e or not? If I don't have it than what has my body been doing all this time and why have I been on all these meds?
AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
Does anyone have any ideas?

You have epilepsy because you have a record of it. The doc who said you didn't and diddn't say what it was seems to be trying to rush you out of the office. This new neuro may not have the experience that the one who diagnosed you did. I would ask him why he doesn't think you have E, while presenting him with the record of E. If he doesn't listen or answer try to get a new referal. Your GP can prescribe your AEDs if you wish to refuse to receive treatment from the neuro. I had it done when one of my former neurologists gave me a medication that made me psychotic and my father had to get me to out to our GP to put me back on the old medication. Things were fairly stable after that. And we refused to see the neuro again.
This is the first time I have heard of anti-marriage laws being imposed against people with epilepsy. I knew there was some risk of travelling to other countries where epilepsy could provoke endangerment to your life but not marriage bans.
