children acting out on trileptal?

I have a 3.5 year old daughter who started having 3 minute long absent seizures out of the blue in June of 08, within a few days she was put on trileptal and things got better. She went in for an EEG and MRI and they found she had a birth defect in her frontal lobe that was causing the seizures. As time has gone by they have done blood draw after blood draw (each time causing her to have a siezure and a fear of people who wear gloves) and they are still struggling to find the correct level to keep her siezure free. But as they raise the levels I am finding that she is becoming more and more obnoxious. Now I wont tell you she was an angel child before this, but really its getting out of hand. She doesnt listen, she does things she knows are wrong and has become defiant to an extreme. Is this normal? is it the drugs? she is my first child so I dont know if this is just an "almost" 4 year old acting out.
