Hello,
Is anyone else experiencing drastic hair loss from either keppra or lamictal? This is stressing me out incredibly which is probably making it worse. Does anyone have suggestions? Help!

I have been on Lamictal for 8 years, and for a short time I did take Keppra. I lost hair on the top of my head and some spots in the back as well. I stopped taking the Keppra, and saw a doctor. With a medication that I put on the bald spots I was able to have my hair start to grow within three weeks. :-S

Did you use minoxidil topical solution to stop the hair loss? Since I switched to Keppra a few months ago I've lost about 40% of my hair. I'm seeing a dermotologist next week so I'll ask for a presciption of that medication.
I've tried B-6, B-12 and Folic acid but they didn't help. I picked up Biotin today so I'll know in a few weeks if it stops hair loss.

I was switched to topamax because of that very thing! It has or seems to have gotten back to the norm it did take awhile for the lamictal to get out of my system though. I would talk with your Dr. mine was VERY understanding, just don't wait like I did because with me it went from thinning to falling out in clumps : ( Also remember stressing about it (which I know easier said)won't help and can cause hair loss too! I wish you all the luck and you are in my prayers!
I'm taking Lamictal and my hair isn't getting any thicker if that makes any difference.
What I would do is try switching meds or see a new doc or something. I don't know maybe its just for the summer I'd wait untill winter and then see if it is still falling out.
OMG finally someone else!!! Yes I am experiencing it!!! I am on both Keppra and Lamictal. I told my doctors about it and they said its not a side effect from the meds. Well it started falling out a lil while after I started taking the meds!

I am losing my hair as well. I am on several medicines. I started losing my hair before I was put on Keppra or Lamictal. I asked some friends who have different health problems than mine. They are losing their hair as well.. It is all medicines in general.

I lost a lot of my hair after I switched from Tripleptal to Lamictal two years ago. I started using Rogaine about 6 months ago and it's growing back (thank God!).
