Is it actually working????

Hi-

Ok. So I have started taking Lamotrigine about 1 1/2 weeks ago and have only had seizures since then (last one last Sunday) which is great considering I used to have around 5-6 a week before (Slowly increasing since February). Does this mean that it is actually working? I am so happy that I haven't had any in almost a week. I am still on a low dosage and am meant to increase it slowly over the next few weeks.

Should I brave myself that there might be a few more till it completely stops or does it usually stop pretty much for good, if the drug seems to work?

I am sorry if these questions are a bit stupid, but I really have no idea.

Thank you! Jess

Are you fully ramped up?  Or, are you still increasing your dosage?  You should be able to get your blood level checked to see where your blood level is at.  I'm thinking that if your seizures are decreased that it's apparent to me that it's working.  But a blood test would be a good thing to get.

Cheers,
Andrew

Hi Andrew

No, am still increasing the dosage. Had made it for 10 days before having another one this Wednesday. But am still not on full dosage she wants me to take, so am hoping that this time around it can last a bit longer than 10 days.
