Does any one experience simple partials in both arms?
Before last week, I also just had focal szs in my right arm, and only during the night. But now they're happening during the day and with a vengeance. My left arm will go stiff - that's my dystonic side, so I'm assuming it's an attack of dystonia. Then my right arm will start shaking. Then my left arm will go stiff again and start shaking. Then my right arm shakes again. This lasts maybe 3 minutes.
Sometimes both arms will shake at once, but not for long. It's either one or the other at any given time.
I can't find anything that would explain it. I'm wondering if somehow the dystonia triggers the sz on the right side, which in turn triggers the sz on my left side and they play ping-pong for a few minutes.
Does any one else experience anything remotely like this?

Hi Steph,
I'm not sure what the technicalities are that are involved, but I know I'm having a similar issue, although it involves more than just my arm. For years now the simple partial and complex partial seizures I get have been on my right side. Usually starting in my right hand. Recently they've been happening in my left side now. Started first at night, but now happens during the day too, an these seem to start either in my foot or hand. Definately shows the seizure activity has decided to have multiple homes in both sides of the bain. Guess that's not a good thing, huh? Hope yours only remain a bother and don't become a problem.
Some of my simple partials that have more severe motor interference involve both my right and arms shaking violently. It can occur at the same time or in rythmic motion almost.. depends on how strong they are.
I do have CP's and Secondary Generals, so mine progress further too BUT that is not always the case. My SP's can happen like this without progression to the other seizures.
It's not uncommon, it just means that you are having motor interference..That is spreading across that part of your brain.
