hi everyone, i'm pretty new here and i thought i'd kind of introduce myself. i'm kat, i'm 30, a stay at home mom (zaria 4 and dax 2 1/2) and a self employed jeweler. (i'd send you to my website, www.katfaerie.com but it's closed right now.. but i have stuff on ebay at http://ebay.stores.com/Kat-Faerie-Designs for anyone interested in seeing some sparklies)
i have both simple and complex partial seizures with secondary generalized seizures. i have had my seizures pretty well under control for 5 years. since i got pregnant with my daughter and got serious (-ish) about the seriousness of my epilepsy. and started taking my meds, lamictal 400mg everyday.
i was diaganosed in 1997 after a grand mal, but i think that i've been having seizures for a long time but nobody knew. my sister used to complain that i smacked my lips in the middle of the night we were kids and shared a room... seems like a classic complex partial to me.
i also suffer from depression and am just now really trying to reach out and find people that can understand me. so somehow i found this site and now i really want to talk to you all and learn more about living with epilepsy. because i've been kind of not thinking about it, feeling shameful and broken and i want to come "out of the shadows" and understand this wonderful broken brain of mine.
just reading through things on the site make me so happy and relieved that i am not alone. people feel these bizarre things too.
