Single seizure, once a month

Sun, 02/22/2015 - 18:54

Hi, I am new to this forum and I joint because of my daughter.  My daughter is severly autistic and non verbal.  She is 15 years old now.  About 6 months ago, she started having a seizure.  The reason I state "a seizure" is because it is extremely predictable.  She has 21 menstrual cicles and her seizure always happens on the ninth day after the start of her period and always between 7-9PM. Also each time (luckily) she has only one.

We immedialty related her seizure as catamenial so we did do some research and talked to her OB-GYN.  Depo-Prevera was recommended to try to provent the seizure.   She is no on it for three months, did not have a seizer for two months.  Until last week, on the ninth day after her period started, she again has one seizure.

I believe there is a sicnificance to the "One"  I have read up on seizure and everyone talks about seizureS, never a single one.   Am I barking up a wrong tree?  I am looking for some idea what to go after.  I cannot find any relations to FSH and LH.  I had hoped to find something as those two hormones really spike, but nothing so far.  My last guess was that it could be the ovulation itself.

Anyone has any ideas?

Greatly appreciated.

~Gerry
