Hi I am 43 yrs old and 6 weeks ago I suffered with a collapse walking to work.I have found out it was a seizure never had one in my life very scarey. The thing is I was on my period at The time and the night before I have her bad pelvic pain could not walk.I am just wondering if anyone can help as I don't think doctors think it's connected. I really bang my head too. What are tge cgances of it happening again. I have been having issues with my periods such as being anemic gushing flooding and clots of different sizes. I did have a trans vaginal scan a couple of years ago and they found a cyst behind my ovary but said it wasn't an issue IS this likely to have changed at all.I have just had a blood test for ca125 waiting for results and i have asked for another scan too .

have you had an EEG or seen a neurologist? that's the kind of follow up to do to know your risks.the period thing is not something I've ever heard with epilepsy but it should get a follow up with your GYN, might be something obvious like fibroids.

Joe, the OP has had ONE seizure (vs. history of seizures at a same point in her cycle) and was asking about the seizure risk. single seizure is a bit early to declare catamenial epilepsy.that she's had different and heavy periods can be a separate issue (correlation is not causation) so visiting a GYN should not be discouraged! I will say I speak from direct female experience on this one. it is important to see a GYN as this is not an unusual problem.
