Pcos with epilepsy

Sun, 06/11/2017 - 14:13
Hello! New to this website, but have been dealing with epilepsy for 12 years. Recently I have been diagnosed with pcos. After trying clomid for a month I got pregnant but lost our sweet angel at 5 weeks. During that pregnancy, I had one small spell. I got everything checked out and dr just thought it was hormones and increased my medicine. Then I ended up losing the baby and waited to take clomid again. After 2 months, I went back to taking my normal dose of Keppra XR, and we decided to try to clomid again. Unfortunately it didn't work, but within approx. 4 weeks I had a seizure early hours of the morning. Thinking I would be ok, I went on to work anyway. Later in the day I had another REALLY bad seizure at work. ( that has been the worse seizure I had in years). After talking with my neurologist, he recommend to not take any meds for 4 months and increase my Keppra back up. It's only been a month since seeing the neuro, but it's killing me inside knowing I can't get pregnant. Has anybody been through this same situation or have any advice for me. All thoughts and comments will be appreciated. I'm really needing some advice from anybody.

I was diagnosed with PCOS

I was diagnosed with PCOS first, I didn't have my epilepsy diagnosis until after I got pregnant. My doctor said with my current medication I shouldn't get pregnant, but if I decide to try we can switch medications. If you really want to try, talk to your neurologist about it. Good luck :(
