Epilepsy, PCOS and progesterone therapy

Sat, 05/02/2015 - 06:23

I was diagnosed with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy at 15. I started off with Epilim, but the side-effects are just terrible. I am now 32 and my epilepsy is still not completely under control. I've been on many different meds, but have had to revert to Epilim in combination with Keppra and Lamictal. I recently found out I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). This is associated with low progesterone levels and I've read a few articles where progesterone treatments have been tested as a potential ad-on treatment as it plays a role in neural biochemistry. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks!
