Did you take Zonegran & Lamictal during pregnancy?

Sat, 01/17/2015 - 06:09

Hello,

Has anyone taken both Zonegran & Lamictal during their pregnancy? I have been on the combo for years and it is just perfect for me! I am aware that Lamictal alone is a safer option of pregnancy, but I've tried to ween off Zonegran multiple times and just couldn't remain seizure-free without it. I've also tried switching to other AEDs but the minute m Zonegran levels drop I start having seizures. I want to start my family but I don't feel that I can change my drug combo successfully.

Anyone with experience with both Zonegran & Lamictal have words of wisdom? How was your pregnancy? How are your children? I've heard from multiple people that have taken one drug or the other (or some other combo) but still haven't found woman with the Zonegran & Lamictal combo.

Thank you,

Maureen

Welcome  Maureen The best way to resolve your issue would be for you to call your neurologist. He knows which medications are better and which they can change or a medication that will match yours closer...

Thank you, Joe. I agree 100%

Thank you, Joe. I agree 100% to always speak with the neuro. I met with mine and she told me about the studies, options, facts, etc. It was very helpful. With that said, hearing from women that have firsthand experience with having a baby on my same drug combo would also be incredibly helpful. I think it feels more relatable to hear a real story...especially because there aren't many statistics/studies on my combo. So, if there are women that have had children with the combo of zonegran and lamictal please let me know how your pregnancy went and if you had healthy babies. Thanks! Maureen
