Dealing with Anxiety

Mon, 06/23/2014 - 02:10

Hi All,

I am 22 years old and I have Left Temporal Lobe epilepsy. My seizures are all grand mal seizures. Thanks to keppra, I am a year and a few months free from seizures.

Although I have gone over a year free from seizures, I still deal with anxiety everyday. Although I do deal with anxiety throughout the day, it worse at night. This is because most of my seizures are nocturnal. I exercise and eat a healthy diet which does help but not enough. If anyone has any advice, tips, or really anything helpful regarding anxiety, I would love to hear it.

Also, I should mention that I'd like to try stay away from anxiety medication just because I know it is only a temporary fix. However, if anxiety medication has helped any of you reading this, please leave a comment on your experience with it, good or bad.

Thank you kindly,

Dani

Welcomr Dani You may hear from both sides of the asile on this issue. Some people have used medications and some haven't. The decission will be yours. Which dorection you lean please make sure your doctors (meaning ALL your doctors) know all the medications you use daily. There are medications that can counter other medications is the reason I state that. I had something wrong which could have been dealt with with medication but my doctor would not prescribe it because it would counter a medication I was using. I hope you get this issue resolved and please come back and let us know how things are Joe PS I appreciate your statement about Keppra It has done a good job at reducing the number of seizures I was having.
