Ativan while trying to conceive/during pregnancy

Mon, 01/04/2016 - 00:56

A few months ago I was unofficially diagnosed with partial seizures. It has not been confirmed with an EEG because I didn't have an episode during my test. I was put on Ativan after going to the ER 3 times (was hospitalized one of those times). This was back in early November. I have been managing my issue with my primary care doctor, but have seen a neurologist and had the EEG. Since starting the Ativan, I have had no more "episodes" and feel fine and am back at work and everything. I take .5 mg in the morning and .5 mg at night.

My husband and I had been planning for a while to begin trying to conceive in January, but now I do not know what to do about the Ativan. I have tried researching it like crazy and have only found mixed answers as to whether it is safe to take a low dose during pregnancy or not.

does anybody have experience with Ativan and pregnancy and could share some advice?
