teenage epilepsy

My name is auburn, im 16, from south wales in the U.K. 18 months ago i had my first seziure, after my second i had an EEG and was told i was photosensitive epileptic. i was put on topamax, but it made me lose to much weight. During the summer months i was having up to 9 seziures a day, some lasting up to 30 minutes. Doctors and neurologists decided that my seziures were non-epileptic. I've since seen a new neurologist who says i'm experiencing both. eventho they say my first 3 seziures were all epileptic, they're not sure about the seziures that I've had since. I'm now on lamotrigine (lamictal). I now only have about 1 seziure a week, but they also think these are non-epileptic. The non-epileptic seziures were the result of being diagnosed with epilepsy and the emotional pressures that come with it (we are led 2 believe). I would love to chat with other young people and teenagers with epilepsy or suffer from seziures.

Hi Auburn my name is Gina and I am 16 years old. I have had epilepsy since i was 8 mounths old so I know how you feel. I had brain surgery when I was 9 years old back in 3rd grade. it was pritty scarry. I have simple and complex partial seizures almost every day. Can you drive. How do you feel about it. I can't because If i had a seizure when I was driving I would not know what I would be doing for that time frame. Right know I am taking lyrica and trileptal for my seizures. My seizures are going pritty good right know. I haven't been haveing that many lately. Ok Auburn you could talk to me when ever you want and you could email me at happydaisy007@yahoo.com so I hope to here from you again. take care from Gina
