sleep deprived-enduced epliepsy, just found out

Tue, 11/21/2006 - 00:11
hi i'm kind of new to this whole thing and I was diagnosed just last week with epilepsy. I'm 15 and I've had 3 episodes but now i just started taking meds. For the most part its controlled and I have found some friends my age that i can trust&tell, but no one who can really relate to my situation b/c they don't have epilepsy. If anyone has some advice, it would be greatly appreciated! thanx for listening.

Hello my name is Kevin Lee and i'm a senior at Camarillo High School and I can understand what you are saying. I have friends but i know that they will never understand my condition. I even had surgery and it was quite sucessful but I still have epilepsy. Just hang on and you will get use to your new life with epilepsy.

hi kevin thanx for responding. im monica. what kind of seizures do you have (if you dont mind me asking)? that sounds like it must have been really tough to deal with, surgery and all. its nice to finally talk to someone who gets it. I hope your senior year has been going well but if you don't mind me asking, were (or are you)you able to reach a point of accepting epilepsy and not letting it stop you from being happy? (if so do you have any tips? :) ) life is bittersweet
