Paid internship for teens with epilepsy

Hi all--I have epilepsy and have been working to make a website for teens with epilepsy.

I finally launched GirlswithNerve, which is a place is a place where teens with epilepsy can find sexual and reproductive health information and support. I'm looking to hire a few  teens with epilepsy to help to make the website better. This position is not geographically-specific, meaning that you can work from anywhere in the United States as long as you have access to the internet. More info below!

Qualifications

Applicants must:

  • Be between the ages of 14-19;
  • Have been diagnosed with epilepsy;
  • Actively participate from March to August 2015, including calls every other week working independently on individual projects, and other scheduled webinars/meetings;
  • Work well independently as well as in team settings;
  • Be familiar with various social media platforms, and have internet access enabling sufficient participation in this program; and
  • Have a passion for making things better for other teens with epilepsy.

Opportunities

Applicants will receive:

  • Mentoring from professionals working in the reproductive health field;
  • Trainings to support career development;
  • Support to develop a project/projects that support you and your interests;
  • Opportunity to showcase your work through the GirlswithNerve social media channels and to connect with other leaders like you; and
  • $500 in Visa gift cards.

People of color, non- gender- conforming folks, and others from marginalized communities are especially encouraged to apply.
