My daughter and new seizures. Once a month after her period

Sat, 06/10/2017 - 18:46
I'm wondering if there are recognized experts in catamenial seizures? My daughter has been seizure free for years but now has had one a month for the last five months. I am now tracking it I believe they are all at the end of her cycle. She is AED free and I'd love to know if we can attempt to ease the hormonal surges for her. I looked at her today and saw that she had broken out on her face and back and I just knew she was having a hormonal surge and was going to have one and she did. We live in Washington DC.

Hi! I have Juvenile Myoclonic Seizures with Catamenial  Grand Mal seizures.  I think it's great that your tracking it.  What I know about these types of seizures is that they usually come before or after a person's period. What I suggest you do is track her ovulation period, because I've noticed mine follow my ovulation cycle.
