How do you deal?

Hi My name is Dana and i just started having seizures at the end of june. And i am scared out of my mind because the doctors don't know what is wrong with me. My family has only one other case like mine and that was with one of my uncles and they didn't know what wa wrong with him either. So i just want to know how do you guys deal with having a seizure disorder?

Hey I'm sorry that this is all happening to you. I'm 18 and have had seizures for about 8 years. I was quite upset as well when I found out that I have seizures. No one in my family has it. How I deal with it is that for me, I try not to let too many people know about it because i don't know how they would react to it. Just tell the people who are around you all the time and the people whom you can trust. That's what I have done. Then I try to live my life as normal as possible. Besides the fact of hiding my epilepsy from many ppl. Hope you can cope with stuff. God Bless.

Hey i'm 18 n i've been having seizures for the past 5 yrs and at first it was pretty difficult to deal with since no one knew why i was having them. But i told my friends and they kinda became a blanket of comfort and protection for me. The doctors still don't know why i'm having them and the meds haven't been working that well, but i try my best not to get depressed and use my condition to help others, especially the younger ones who have seizures too.

I am sorry to hear that your having seizures. *hugs* I personally have had seizures for 21 yrs, so basically all my life. Although I don't really understand life without it the best advice I have is. Everyday is a new day so take each day as it comes. Live life to your fullest cause Epilepsy or seizures does not define you! As hard as what you are going through is be you and understand this will NOT ruin your life it will just change it. I hope tat they can figure out what is going on with you and I wish you the best of luck. ~*Samantha*~
