E and sports

Sat, 08/04/2007 - 20:53
Have u ever wondered how you life will change after ur diagnosed with E? one of the main concerns is sports? Will you be able to continue the sports u love? When I was diagnosed i was a soccer player and dancer. Now i swim and play water polo. yes, there is a concern about possibly having a seizure during the sport but u cant let ur parents seclude u from the sports u love. I know there r probably parents reading this but ur kids will feel secluded if u pull them from the sport they love. What do u think? By: Davita

Davita~ You have to keep doing the things you love. This will help you from becoming (more) depressed. I love softball so I play. I would be extrememly depressed it I couldn't play. Remember if you do have a seizure while playing nobody will think less of you and if you need help, help will be there! Epilepsy has you, but you don't have epilepsy! Remember that! ~Hang tough!

I spend 16 or more hours a week in the pool and i would be crushed if i had to quit. Swimming and water polo is my life. it is my way to escape from everything. davita :-)
