Dealing

Sun, 01/09/2005 - 21:07

Hi, my name is Liz and i was diagnosed with epilepsy at about age eleven. Now im fourteen and as I look back its been a long 3-4 years. My grades have decreased so much and I'm so different. Epilepsy has made these years tired ones and if I had a penny for every tear I cried on the way here then I would be rich, but at least im here. I thank god every day I'm here. I just wish another one of thoses millions with epilepsy were around to know what I was going through.

I know exactly what you are going through. I was diagnosed when I was 10 and it will be 10 yrs that I have had epilepsy this July. Before it happened, I was at the top of my class and then my grades started to slip drastically. I have scars from surgery and I have cried just as you have. I can't drive but I know that I will be able to soon. I thank god everyday as well that he has blessed me with a great family and a great group of friends. We all have been there and know what you are going through. You sound like you are a strong person and you just needed someone to talk to. Don't worry, we are here for you. Just remember that there are millions of us out here and we will talk with you when you need someone to talk to.
