Anyone can't drive because of Epilepsy

Thu, 08/03/2006 - 21:02
Hi Everyone my name is Gina and I am 16 years old. I have had epilepsy since I was 8 mounths old. I had surgery when I was 9 years old back in 3rd grade. It was very scary at the time. Know my seizures are way better like I only have parcial complex right know. they don't bother me pritty much at all except for one reason DRIVING I can't drive and where i live they only have the city busses so right know since I can't drive I kind of feel out numbered. Does anyone feel like me. If there are any special ways to get around tell me if you know. Just right know since everyone I pritty much know is getting their licens I just wonder if anyone else feels the same way as me. You could talk to me when ever you want

Hey Gina my name is Meg amd I'm twenty I've had epilepsy for ten yrs. Mine aren't bad either compared to other people. I just have a g mal every few weeks, partials in the morning and peti-mals. So now that we have established we both have it pretty easy let's talk about our lack of driving. I live in a small farm town where there are no such thing as sidewalks and the grocery store is litterally a good 20 min. down the road. Solution, gas prices are high right now. Tell your friends you'll pay them for rides even the relatives. I'm not saying always, for example I give my cousin a few bucks every now and then for taking me to our community college. btw my sister is getting her permit and it's scary as hell so you might be glad your not on the roads right now.

Hi Meg you sound like a really cool girl. Yahhh sometimes I wish that I could drive and other times I am glad that I don't because of the gas and all of thoses people on the road. How old is your sister. I have a sister who is 19 and will be 20 in december. she is driving right know. My younger sister just turned 14 the otheer day and she will be driving probably at age 17 or so so i will ride with them and take the city bus. Thanks for the advice. Hope that we keep in touch. take care love Gina

Gina, Thanks that was really kind of you. My sister is 15 and has her permit and is getting her liscence soon. My Dad handles it better than my mom (last time we went onto the interstate we got right off the next exit) I just sit in the back going "Oh God Please let us make it" over and over until it sounds like a chant. Hope everything works out for you. ~Meg
