VNS Help and Opinions :)

Wed, 01/14/2015 - 15:28

My neurologist just recommended the VNS to me so, really I'm not to informed on it yet. I've had seizures my whole life and was diagnosed as epileptic when I was about 10, so I'm honestly use to seizures now, I know my life no other way really hah. I think in ways just because VNS so different than anything I've EVER used its sort of intimidating and scary to me. I know I can do research on the VNS (and I'm going to) but I wanted to hear from you also what you think. Then for those of you who have had it, how it's working for you, was it worth it? Then also this might sound to some people very not important but its really important to me now. I live a pretty active lifestyle and its only been increasing, how does VNS affect active lifestyles, does it work with active lifestyles?

Thank You SOOO much for any tips you leave I really appreciate it :)

I've lived 30 years with epilepsy, I was diagnosis when I was 9 years old and still haven't been able to get seizures under control.  I've even had brain surgery done.I've read that a lot of people have gotten this and say it works good. I just had my doctor recommend the VNS and was pretty glad but when I had to meet a  new doctor he was down about and say's it's not good/worth it.I want to get this so the next time I see this doctor I'm going to tell him that, but if he's still down about it I'm just going to have to find another doctor one that's for it.So it's worth getting and wouldn't be a waste of money right?
