temporal lobe surgery
Mon, 02/02/2015 - 20:29Hi everyone, I am going through all the tests to determine whether or not I am a candidate for temporal lobe surgery...so far, it's looking like I will be a candidate. I was just wondering what people's experiences were with this type of surgery, the risks, side-effects, could you drive afterwards, etc? My goal is to not have anymore seizures, to be able to drive again, and return to work and having a normal life. Any input and/or feedback would be very helpful. Thanks.
I had my first left temporal

I had my first left temporal surgery in 2006 & did well with only having to take one medication for 2 years. However, in 2008 I began having seizures again and had a 2nd temporal lobe surgery again. Again with much success I went back to work bald 9 days later & finished my bachelors degree in health science & biology so I feel I had great success. It wasn't until 2012 I started having grand mal seizures again quite often and sometimes grand mal seizures 4 in a row. I really feel the surgery was a success because it gave me time to complete big goals in my life. I think it is something if your doctor thinks will help you it's worth it. I wish you great success~ Karen
