Scared

I am only 15 and in 2007 my neurologist are getting a new MIR machine and they will be able to tell my parents if i need surgery or not. I'm scared that if I do need surgery I will be so paranoid, I have never had brain surgery before.

Hi, Please don't worry. I'm 27 and had siezures all my life. I had a right temporal lobectomy in 2001 and have been siezure free ever since. How long have you had siezures. I will definetly let you know what to expect if you end up going through with this surgery.

Dear Live,I am 40 years old and had brain surgery when I was 16.I had RTemporal lobe epilepsy.I wasn't scared but more relieved that this could be the end of my seizures. My cousin had it done twice and the second time it was alot different the way they do things. The surgery was about a 95% success.I still have the odd seizure but not like before. Now it is hardley noticeable.I used to be so embarrassed when I would have one in public. Now it is only noticed by my family.I'm still taking meds but a reduced amount.I used to be on tegretol, phenobarb and dilantin 4x a day now I only take 250mg of dilantin. So try to relax it will be okay.Good Luck.
