RNS and when will it be available for everyone

Wed, 10/03/2012 - 16:05

Hi,

I am interested in the RNS surgery and have heard that it has a high success rate but cannot find any information that is recent. Does anyone have any idea when the FDA will approve it or how to get into the study? Who to call now?

Thanks,

Bridget

I had a recent appointment with a neurosurgeon and just had a casual meeting last evening with a Neurologist both of whom mentioned the RNS.  I’m still doing research into the topic and have a consult with my Neurologist at a very, very progressive thinking hospital.  As far as studies, I’m not aware of any, but if I find out, I will respond to this post ( even though it’s been collecting dust since 2012 ) :).

It seems we’re starting to realize that medicating the entire body isn’t an effective solution and the next advancement in treatment is going to be technological instead of chemical.

A direct answer to your question about availability:

It will become available when enough profits can be made.
Right now, video games are more profitable than curing our dis ease.
