Right Frontal Lobe Surgery

Mon, 03/25/2013 - 13:11

Hello everyone: It's been a while since posting here and I'm rusty at this. I'll get to the point. I'm having inter cranial grids and monitoring April 23rd. I also have my right frontal lobe re section on May 7th. Has anyone out there been "gridded" for over 10 days before frontal lobe surgery. My "research" shows that most people who  have experienced surgery are only in the hospital for a few days.  I know the temporal lobe procedures are not quite the same. I just think that 1 month in the hospital seems like a really long time. Any information regarding these topics would help a lot. I'm 51, and was diagnosed with "peti-mal_ which they now call partial  seizures Anyway I want to get the procedures done, but I have not found much information regarding Frontal Lobe and Nocturnal Seizures. Please reply.

Blessings, Pam

I have 25 videos posted on my grid surgery leading up to my resection on May 7th, as well as all follow-up.

I will keep adding to the videos.

hi! my name is brent j menendez, i also have seizures in my sleep aswell as when im awake. im in the same boat. on may 7th i get my brain maped out so they know where my new seizures are coming from and exactly wich part of my left temperol lobe to cut out unless they have moved from one to both sides in wich case it will switch to frontal lobe surgery. i also have found little info on the surgery and the succes rates. for me the fear is almost over whelming with there being so little info. a month is a long time to spend in recovery but compared to this life long nightmare it will be but a blink of an eye. ive been told succes rates very from 50% to 85% pending on age and how long youve had seizures. my odds are around 66% of success. ive been having seizures since 1995and im 30 yrs old. check out the vegal heart nerv stimulator, vns for short. i know i dont have much info but i can relate and just wanted u to know ur not alone. stay strong and may the force and the lord be with u.
