Hi, Paola.  Your English is very good!  "Most doctors I asked in my country(what is Poland)told me surgery is only for people for whom epilepsy is a danger itself, for all those who do not even wake up,just having attack after attack."  This was NOT the case for me at all.  My E was not a "danger".  I awoke after every sz.  And only went into status epilepticus (sz. after sz) once in my 36 years of  having E.  But I had surgery because medications just flat could not control my sz.  I had been on every medication available in the U.S., and every combination of them possible, over & over & over.  Surgery needs to be a last resort, after everything else has been tried.  I can understand your desire to be rid of it all, but I want to encourage you to be patient as your doctor tries different meds on you.  You never know when the next one might be "the one" that helps you to live a more normal life.  Surgery may still be an option for you down the road.  But hang in there.  I hope you get some relief.  Jackie
