Multiple Subpial Transection Surgery

Tue, 04/14/2015 - 22:45

Has anyone out there had an MST (multiple subpial transection)? If so can you please tell me your experience. Our neurologists have suggested this procedure for our son. He is 15 and functions like a 5 yr old mentally. He walks and talks and is otherwise healthy. He was born with severe myoclonic epilepsy having over 100 seizures a day. He has had a corpus callosotomy, has a VNS, and takes medication. He is now having 3-4 seizures daily. We are concerned that this procedure may cause him some detriment. We are looking for experiences from others. Please help.
