I need a Neurosurgeon - preferably in the Midwest USA

Tue, 03/15/2011 - 11:32

Can you recommend one for a 22 year old?

We're out of hope with the numerous delays at the facility that is 'treating' his epilepsy now.

I am from Nebraska, and go to Omaha, Ne where they have the University of Nebraska Medical Center. There, they have a Epilepsy Center of The Midwest that might be able to help out.

Their facebook page is: http://www.midwestepilepsy.com/dr_madhavan.html

I have news for you... avoid Andrews as he doesn't care about his patients.

You're better off going with Dr. Madahaven from University of Nebraska Medical Center as it is better care and it is directly tied in with the University of Nebraska Medical Center AND the Mid West Epilepsy Center.

Secondly, there are other epilepsy doctors in the Epilepsy Center at UNMC including surgeons that are very qualified.

Third, UNMC is a research center whereas Alegent is not. The difference, UNMC has a higher rating in this area of expertise. Check it out as it will be better in the long run. Lastly, UNMC does have the MEG whereas Alegent does not.

Oh and one more thing, the financial aspect. UNMC billing personnel people will work with you whereas Alegent does not. Example, when I needed to make monthly payments with Alegent, they hounded me every month even though I was on time with my payments. That to me is not very good customer service nor is it something I am willing to deal with again. I have never had to go through that sort of issue with UMNC and their payment processing people. Everyone has been very helpful even when I have needed to skip a month for other bills as they do understand we're human and we do need to survive. Truth be told, UNMC has a rule that they live by -- Patients First, Alegent hospital does not.
