Having VNS implant surgery FEB 27

Hi i have finally been oked to have the vns surgery by my insurance and i will be having it done FEB 27th i am nervous but some what excited about it and i hope it all goes well for me i am trying to think on the positive side of things with this. I hope i am going to have a great outcome with this.So everyone out there keep thumbs up i will be ok.

Congratulations on being approved for the VNS! I had mine implanted in Oct, 2005, and like you, was both nervous and excited. My surgery went very well, and was much easier than I had expected. I hope yours goes as well. I am still having my VNS adjusted upwards to find a therapeutic range. I had it adjusted monthly until January, and went to every other month. My next adjustment will be in March. I have had no problems with the implant, other than my voice getting a little "hoarse" when the device goes off sometimes. Good luck, and keep us posted on how it goes. If you have any questions, let me know. It's still a bit new to me, but I would be happy to share any of my experiences!
