Focal epilepsy from brain trauma

Sat, 10/15/2016 - 12:43
My husband sustained a blow to the right frontal region of his head about 18 years ago. He was just diagnosed with focal epilepsy after he crashed his truck and was completely unaware of the accident. We are currently under the care of an epileptologist who is recommending surgery. We've had almost all of the testing completed with the exception of SEEG or craniotomy/mapping. As a sanity check, we're in the process of scheduling a second opinion at Cleveland clinic. I wish someone could give us guidance on whether or not the team here is as good as they say they are. Anyone ever look into docs in central Florida?

Hello.  I had a Temporal Lobe

Hello.  I had a Temporal Lobe Resection this past February at Tampa General Hospital by Dr. Fernando Vale. I was really pleased with the outcome and have been seizure free since the surgery. I was out of the hospital three days after surgery and was back to working (from home) the third week after surgery. Good Luck and I hope things work out for him. Paul
