Brain Surgery & How succesfull?

Hi everyone,
I have temporal Lobe Epilepsy. I have clinical Partial seizures. I am being considered for Surgery. I have gone through a lot of the process already. I had a PET Scan and MRI there over a week ago. I have had Video teletry done and EEGs blood tests etc. I am going for a WADA test next week. I would like to find someone in Ireland who has had surgery and it has been successful. I have already emailed the Epilpesy association but I have had no response to my query yet. Has anyone any advice?

Hi Raid
I am from the UK and I know of someone who has had successful Epilepsy Surgery done 2 years ago and who is still seizure free. You will find him on the forum4e site which belongs to Epilepsy Action UK. He had his successful surgery done at Kings College Hospital in London. I had my Video Telemetry done there last April. I am having my Wada Test done next Tuesday morning to find out if I will be a successful candidate for surgery too. I really dreading it, but not so badly now has so many nice people on this site and in the UK have reassured me that it isn't too bad. Otherwise I will come back and haunt them afterwards!!! (HAHA)

meeciamecia, Hello, can u tell me anything & all about brain surgery? Maybe if it comes from someone other than a doctor I would feel better about it. Besides you know how doctors talk. kecia

well raid i'm not from ireland i'm from the usa,I have complex partioal seizures, and everything you've had done i've had done too. and I've had brain surgery done on my front temperal lobe. it was a lil scary but it will be over before you know it. I am actually in a siezure clinic as i am writing this. well i wish you the best of luck with your siezures. and hope everthing turns out ok.
